Naturally tart, green tamarind fruit makes our sinigang a truly refreshing treat. Sinigang is a sour soup native to the Philippines made with pork spinach and tomatoes.

Salt, Citric Acid (added To Enhance Tartness), Monosodium Glutamate (as Flavor Enhancer), Cane Sugar, Onion Powder, Tamarind Powder, Rice Flour, Tomato Powder, Garlic Powder, Disodium Inosinate And Disodium Guanylate.
Directions
Sinigang Recipe (Makes 10-12 Servings): 1 pouch (50 g) Mama Sita's Tamarind Seasoning (Sinigang sa Sampalok) Mix; 2.2 lb (1 kg) whole uncooked prawns; 10 cups (2.5 lt) water; 1 cup (150 g) tomatoes (quartered); 1/2 cup (90 g) onions (quartered); 2 cups (200 g) sitaw (long green beans) cut into 2 inch lengths; 2 cups (400 g) radish (sliced); 4 pieces (30 g) long green pepper; 2 cups (200 g) leafy vegetables (kangkong or spinach); patis (fish sauce) to taste. 1. In a saucepan, bring water, tomatoes & onions to a boil. Simmer for 5 min. 2. Pour in Mama Sita's Sinigang sa Sampalok Mix. Increase the heat & bring to a rolling boil. 3. Add radish, long green beans, long green pepper and fish sauce to taste. Cover & simmer for 5 min. 4. Add prawns. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until the prawns are cooked. Turn off the heat and add the leafy green vegetables. Cover to steam-cook. Serve hot.
